Even before 5G was fully rolled out, a review of the scientific studies on Wi-Fi and other electromagnetic frequency (EMF) exposure found that it is an important threat to health. Many different effects of repeated exposure were identified in that research, including:
- Apoptosis, which is cell death
- Oxidative stress, one of the root causes of a wide range of health conditions
- Testicular/sperm damage and male infertility
- Neuropsychiatric changes like increases in special learning cases
- Cellular DNA damage
- Hormonal changes like an imbalance in your estrogen levels
- Sleep disruption
This is just the beginning. Over 500 studies have looked at the health risks of radio frequency radiation that comes from cellphone towers and wireless devices and the results haven’t been positive.
This can make for some interesting reading, but if you don’t want to do that, the most important thing to know is that scientists are now saying that radio frequency radiation should be considered as a carcinogen.
But what about 5G?
Does 5G Pose A Health Threat?
The truth is that we don’t know. No governments want to fund the research, just like with 4G. Two hundred and fifty scientists and medical doctors came together to sign an appeal to fund the 5G-health research to try to change that situation.
What we do know is that exposure to 2G and 3G is harmful to living beings even when the exposure ranks below national and international guideline levels. Now we need to know what that technology plus the other types of waves that 5G produces has on human health.
Kevin Mottus from the US Brain Tumor Association said that within this portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, the higher the band or frequency, the more dangerous it is. Previous routers emitted 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The new 5G routers emit 60 GHz on top of the previous two.
5G technology uses millimeter wave radiation which has a greater effect on your body because the antennas need to be closer to you to be effective.
Millimeter waves are mostly absorbed within the first few millimeters of our skin and in the surface layers of the cornea. Short-term exposure can have adverse physiological effects in the nervous system, immune system and cardiovascular system. The research suggests that long-term exposure may pose health risks to the skin (e.g., melanoma), the eyes (e.g., ocular melanoma) and the testes (AKA sterility).
5G also involves the deployment of active antennas capable of beam-forming, phased arrays and massive multiple inputs and outputs (or massive MIMO) which pose unique challenges for measuring exposures.
So, as I write this, the jury is out regarding the overall effects of 5G on the body. I will stay updated on the situation and edit this article accordingly and let you know when I do.
In the meantime, it’s never too early to start protecting yourself from this new technology–which already surrounds us all the time, as well as the WiFi and cellphone tower waves that we’re being exposed to more and more as time goes on.
How Can You Protect Yourself From WiFi and 5G?
There are now a number of technologies available to help you to guard against the negative effects of EMFs inside your home and when you’re out and about.
Disable Wireless Functions
This simple tip will help you to lower the amount of frequencies being emitted from your own router. Plug in your printers, tablets and laptops. Disable the Wi-Fi function on your mobile or cell phone as often as you can, particularly at night.
Keep Your Router Away From Your Family
When you install your router as far away from where you and your loved ones spend most of their time at home, you can minimize your family’s exposure. Keeping your phone in your pocket is not a good idea if you want to reduce the impact its radiation has on your body. So keep your phone in your bag or as far away from your body as you can unless you use a special technology that blocks its harmful rays.
Use Special EMF-Blocking Technologies
Amazing tools are now available to block the effects of radiation on your body, including handbags and satchel, phone covers, wifi covers and many others.
